UIC Celebrates Tech Bootcamps Launch

It’s an exciting time for Chicago tech! With new tech companies raising nearly $3 billion in venture capital last year - despite the pandemic - it’s clear that jobs in tech are on the rise if you have the right skill set. To celebrate the launch of UIC Tech Bootcamps, there will be three days of free programming for the community. Join us for one or all three events and get a better understanding of what a career in tech can mean for you.
Here’s the lineup:
- Breaking Into Chicago Tech (Tues, Feb 23): A panel discussion with area tech leaders from various backgrounds about getting into tech. We’ll hear from leaders at Zoom, JPMorgan Chase, and Clearcover. Start here if you’re generally interested in a career in tech.
- How Instagram Filters Work (Wed, Feb 24): A workshop in numerical programming. Start here if you’re interested in learning how to code.
- Introduction to Cybersecurity (Thurs, Feb 25): A workshop in cryptography. Start here if you’re interested in learning cybersecurity.
