UIC Innovation Mentors are a crucial part of building an inclusive entrepreneurial community where all students have access to the support and resources they need to learn, grow, and succeed as entrepreneurs. Mentor responsibilities are outlined in the Mentor Guidelines.
Why participate? Students have the chance to scaffold workshops to refine their business idea leading up to the Blaze Venture Challenge with mentorship and real-time support.

Students
Student participants in the UIC Innovation Demo Day and the Blaze Venture Challenge are invited to take part in the UIC Innovation Mentors program. This program partners event participants with industry professionals who are committed to guiding students on their entrepreneurial journeys.
Students interested in taking part in the program will receive information from event administrators.
Mentors
Ahead of the the 2024 Blaze Venture Challenge, industry professionals are invited serve as a mentor for student participants. Mentor’s expertise plays a crucial role in shaping the experience for participants, and directly benefits UIC student innovators and entrepreneurs.
We’re asking mentors to commit to offering 30 minutes of office hours a week using a pool system starting the week of February 19th. Similar to last year, students will reach out directly to schedule time during your designated hours.
